Marko Ala-Fossi's doctoral dissertation (2005) studied the quality cultures
in Finnish and US commercial radio. Besides his recent research on
digital radio in DRACE he has also continued research on Finnish
commercial radio commissioned by the Finnish Ministry of Transport and
Communications and the Finnish Regulatory Authority. His research
interests include different forms of radio cultures, political economy
and social shaping of the new media delivery technologies. In September
2008, he is starting a new study on digital radio as a part of
Intermedia -project, which is fully funded by the Academy of Finland.
Ala-Fossi is also the editor-in chief of the university radio station,
Radio Moreeni.
